Our flight got in Cancun at 9am and we headed to the hotel to leave our bags. At the hotel, they said we could not check at that time but that we could use all their infrastructure already. We could even have breakfast! We had booked a standard room with no view and at that moment, they tried to sell us a room upgrade for $50 a night to have ocean view, which we declined. However, when the time to check in came, they got us a room upgrade to the master with ocean view for free, which was amazing, and the excuse was that the standard room was under maintenance. So, my take from that whole situation was that they already knew we would not be in the room that we booked and tried to sell the upgrade even though they were going to give us that anyway. And I'm writting this on the positive side because at the end we didn't pay anything else and got a really good view. Besides that, the hotel has a good infrastrucure: good pool, nice beach area. The ocean color is unreal by the way. The all inclusive system works well and if you are staying for 3+ or 5+ nights, you get to go 1 night to one of their top restaurants (Italian and Japanese, respectively). The breakfast is very good with countless options. The staff at the hotel is also very attentive.

We loved how close to the beach the hotel was. We also loved the food at the restaurant and especially the hot chocolate. The staff was very helpful and checkin was easy.

We checked in before arrival so when we arrived at the hotel it took just seconds to complete the process. The receptionist said the room was the best available and it certainly was! It had a terrace (room 522) with a view overlooking the pool and the sea. Stunning views. We booked a master suite and were not disappointed. It was very spacious with a very comfortable bed. One of the reasons we picked this hotel was the positive comments about the food. We have been to Cancun and Playa del Carmen many times and stayed in the best hotels but the food at NYX was the best. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we've had, the food was kept hot at all times and was replaced rapidly. The lunch menu was varied and excellent - we were never disappointed. The dinner menu was changed each night with a different theme - Italian, Mexican etc. and was really tasty. The evening buffet was extremely varied with a choice of delicious cheeses in particular. The nachos ordered on the beach were the best my wife had ever tasted (a latina). We also went to the Japanese and Italian speciality restaurants and really enjoyed the dishes. One of the things we most enjoyed was the compactness of the hotel so you are literally only minutes away from your room, the beach, the restaurants, the lobby etc. At other resorts we have spent 20 minutes walking to the room from the lobby/restaurant then down to the beach, so we got fed up with all the needless walking. Also, the NYX is directly by the sea, unlike other hotels where you have to walk for ages. Also, only a short walk from the hotel entrance to catch a bus or taxi. It's also very near La Isla shopping mall, a 10 minute stroll or 12 pesos bus ride.

We felt like we got great value for money on an all inclusive package with free flowing cocktails, wine and beers. The breakfasts were a definite highlight as was our evening at the Italian restaurant which felt a little special thanks to the violinist. The staff were all so friendly and the barman at Magic Bar in particular worked so, so hard! The beach was very chilled and pool lively with lots of games and music etc so something for everyone.

We had a really nice time here! Our room was super clean and the oceanview was really really Beautiful. Also a big shoutout to the staff everyone was so friendly also a big thanks to Eduardo, Luis & Joel for the great service in the restaurant! :)

The breakfast was amazing, room was super clean, staff was very friendly and helpful, great value compared to other resorts nearby, daily activities were fun, Tacos Villanos is THE BEST

The property was located fairly close to the Main Street, so you could catch a bus without walking a mile from the property to the highway. The staff was super helpful, the property was very clean our room was always clean. We paid extra to be ocean front and it was a pano of the ocean. My husband and I have been going to Cancun for over 30 years and this is one of the prettiest stretches a beach. Additionally the food was very good it wasn’t that cafeteria dorm style food. Each night was something different. Hamburgers and cerviche and other great things were available for lunch, but the breakfast was perfect. The property itself wasn’t the most luxurious with Marble in modern furniture etc. but it was comfortable and nice. There are also two pools a loud one in a quiet one. We will return.

Delicious food on every restaurant and buffet. Nice staff. A lot of entertainment for adults. Great location and very good price. A lot of beach chair.
